STEP ONE:

Book your session as early as possible to get your preferred date. For this Houston cake smash photographer, Saturday and Sunday Sunset sessions are the first to fill up during the fall and spring seasons. Use the form at the bottom of the page to contact Stephanie with any questions. You can also pick out your session date and book through the website.

Upon booking, order your cake. Simple or themed cakes work well, even a large cupcake is a fun idea. Following booking, a session design consultation is available for each cake smash portrait session via phone, email, or in-person to discuss the vision for your portraits. Stephanie can help with ideas for locations, outfits, and even unique ways to incorporate a theme. If including parents, you should also book your hair & makeup artist at this time. It isn’t required but helps you show up to your session looking and feeling your best. References for hair & makeup artists are available upon request.
STEP THREE:

It’s the day of your baby’s cake smash birthday portrait! A great idea to bring snacks and a change of clothes for the ride home since smashing a cake. Arrive at your session ready to go. You may want to put on the child’s outfit upon arrival.  Simple, props are welcome. We’ll have a fun session with your kids helping them to look their best while keeping it simple with a combination of poses looking at the camera and interacting with props or family members.
STEP FOUR:

About 1 week after your cake smash birthday portrait session you’ll be able to see your cake smash session images for the first time! You’ll get to pick out your favorite images to order as printable digital files (which you print yourself), canvas, albums, wall art, and more! A la carte and package options are available. Digitals start at packages of 5 or 10. Digital + Printed photo packages are also available, the total investment varies but is always up to you.

A. Options start at about 20 minutes and go up from there.
Q. How much will my cake smash portraits cost?
A. The total will be comprised of two parts- your session fee and your image order. The session fee starts at $100 and image orders start at $150. We have a variety of options to fit your needs. pricing info
Q. Can I get the digital files?
A. Of course! You’ll get to view all your images and select your favorites to order as digital files or printed images. We also have discounts if you’d like to have them all!
Q. Do you have packages?
A. Yes, this Houston cake smash photographer offers digitals with print release in packages starting at 5 images. We have a la carte prints and products as well as packages if you prefer. It’s totally up to you.

Q. What time of day will my session be?
A. When booking a studio session, you can choose any time of day. For an outdoor session, golden hour- 1-1.5 hours before sunset is best.
Q. When will I get to see my cake smash birthday portrait pictures?
A. Your proofing gallery will be ready about 1 week after your cake smash session for you to Ooo and Aaa over!
Q. How can I share my images with my friends?
A. Any digital images ordered may be shared on social media or used in your announcements. If you order a full digital collection you also will receive a custom app with ALL your proof images on it! Share away! Don’t forget to tag @atascocitaphoto on Instagram and @atascocitaphoto and on Twitter!
Q. I want an on-location session, can you do that?
A. Yes, we can have your session indoors at a location that is special to you. Please let the photographer know if you want a session in a unique location to we can check lighting and secure any necessary photography permits.
