Tips for large Family Sessions
When putting together a large group session that includes little kids, there are a few things you can do to make your session flow smoothly. First, pick a location that the kids will be comfortable in. We choose to say in their backyard. The kids like it there and you don’t have to load everyone up in the car- less stress. 😉 Secondly, keep the outfits simple and comfortable. Simple coordination of a few colors is all you need to help a large group look cohesive but not to matchy. In this scenario red, white and blue did just that. Also, take care that clothes are appropriate for the temp outside and that the kids can move around and be free. Third, keep the session light hearted. Keep posed simple, tell jokes, and go with the flow. Kids will easily pick up on the stress from parents. I also like to give the kids breaks. I’ll break up the group in to smaller units and let some kids have a break. Then we all come together at the end for a really fun group shot!
