Professional Headshot Portrait Process

From Booking to Posting.

STEP ONE:

Book a session with your Humble headshot photographer as early as possible to get your preferred date. For this Houston headshot photographer, sessions are scheduled 7 days a week so please let us know your preferred date. Humble Corporate Headshots generally book 1-2 months in advance. Individual headshot sessions generally book 1-3 weeks in advance. Book online on our website or use the form at the bottom of the page to contact Stephanie. It’s time to prepare your outfits with any tailoring or dry cleaning and make a hair appointment for a fresh appearance.

STEP TWO:

Each headshot or personal branding portrait session is unique and never 100% like anyone else. Upon booking, a session design consultation is available for each client via phone, email or in-person to discuss the vision for your headshots. Stephanie can help with ideas for locations, outfits and even unique ways to incorporate a theme or profession. You should also book your hair & makeup artist at this time. It isn’t required, but helps you show up to your session looking and feeling your best. It totally adds that extra bit of polish to your look that is so important. References for hair & makeup artists available upon request.

STEP THREE:

It’s the day of your professional headshot session and time to get ready.  Key points: wardrobe, hair, and makeup.  Arrive at your session wearing your first outfit. Have the rest neatly pressed and ready to go on hangers. If you’d like, bring extra outfit options, and I can help you decide what to wear. Props are welcome- for example your realtor sign, lab coat, or work devices. You can feel confident that we’ll show you how to pose to look your best.

STEP FOUR:

Depending on the quantity of poses your humble headshot photographer captured, for example your whole office or just one solo entrepreneur,  1-2 weeks after your headshot or branding session you’ll be able to see your images for the first time!  If we did headshots through your company for the whole office and you selected your favorites that day, you’ll be able to download the final images from this gallery. If you are an individual or requested to select your favorite images through an online gallery you’ll be able to select your favorite images from the proofing gallery and then a download gallery will be sent to you. Just like all of my sessions, you can order digitals, printed photos, or a combination of both.

Types of Humble Headshot Photography and Their Benefits

Headshots are an essential part of any professional portfolio. They are used on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and social media profiles to give potential clients and employers a glimpse of your personality and qualifications.

There are many different types of Houston headshot photography, each with its own benefits. Here are a few of the most popular types:

  • Traditional headshots: Traditional headshots are the most common type of headshot. They are typically taken in a studio setting with a neutral background. This type of headshot is a good choice for professionals who want to project a professional and polished image.
  • Contemporary headshots: Contemporary headshots are a more modern take on the traditional headshot. They are often taken in a more creative setting, such as outdoors or in a location that is relevant to the person’s profession. This type of headshot is a good choice for professionals who want to project a creative and innovative image.
  • Corporate headshots: Corporate headshots are designed to be used in business settings, such as on company websites or in marketing materials. They are typically taken in a professional setting with a neutral background. This type of headshot is a good choice for professionals who want to project a trustworthy and reliable image.
  • Headshots for social media: Headshots for social media are designed to be used on social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. They are often taken in a more casual setting, such as at home or in a coffee shop. This type of headshot is a good choice for professionals who want to project a friendly and approachable image.
  • Headshots for modeling and acting: Headshots for modeling or acting are designed to be used by models to get jobs. They are typically taken in a professional setting with a neutral background. This type of headshot is a good choice for models who want to project a versatile and marketable image.

No matter what type of headshot you choose, it is important to find a photographer who has experience taking headshots and who can help you look your best. The photographer should be able to guide you through the process and help you choose the right poses and expressions for your headshot.

Here are some additional tips for choosing a headshot photographer:

  • Do your research: Before you hire a headshot photographer, be sure to do your research and compare different photographers’ portfolios. This will help you find a photographer who has the skills and experience to take the type of headshot you need.
  • Be clear about your needs: When you meet with a potential photographer, be clear about your needs and budget. This will help the photographer create a proposal that is tailored to your specific requirements.
