Porter High School Senior: Sports Themed Senior Portrait Session
Senior Session Throwback
Looking back at the class of 2016 to our senior portrait session with Porter High School Senior – Nate Ralph! I realized I had never blogged any of his images, so now is the time to correct that mistake! Nate is currently a successful college student and athlete at the Coast Guard Academy- GO Nate!
When he was a high school senior at Porter High School, where he played football and baseball while maintaining high academic standards, we did this super-cool portrait session to commemorate his graduation achievement. We had the opportunity to shoot his session in the locker room at the field house, the weight room and around the high school campus. We also did a set around the lake in the subdivision of Riverwalk, right across from PHS, which is super pretty if you haven’t even been there, you should go check it out. I’ll share that in a separate post.
How I Achieved This Look
Shooting indoors gave us the opportunity to get some really unique shots! I utilized flash- set up as multiple off-camera flashes- to make some really dramatic lighting for his senior portrait session. This dramatic style of lighting lends a lot of moody contrast which is awesome for athletes and makes this portrait session stand out. Not to mention, locker rooms at high school field houses are not designed for photography, you have to bring your own light to shoot there!
Someone recently asked if I had ever done a senior session for an athlete, and this being one of my favorite sports-themed sessions, I pulled up the images to share.
Enjoy this fun athlete themed session!
